Bowden, Hilman - Plant City  
BOWDEN, Hilman F., 91, passed away peacefully at home on May 16, 2015. He was born in Enterprise, Alabama, and moved to Florida with his family during the Great Depres-sion. He graduated from Plant City High School and joined the United States Navy immediately after Pearl Harbor. He served his country during World War II and the Korean War. He graduated from Florida Southern College in 1948, but was always a Florida Gator at heart. He was a career banker at Plant City's Hillsboro State Bank (SunTrust). In retirement, he enjoyed traveling with his wife Barbara, and attending Gator football games. He and Barbara believed in giving back by donating to various causes such as the South Florida Baptist Hospital, University of Florida Foundation, and Plant City's First Baptist Church. He served on the board of trustees for Hills-borough Community Coll-ege and was instrumental in establishing the Plant City campus. He also serv-ed on the board of directors of the Tampa Sports Auth-ority, South Florida Baptist Hospital, Bruton Memorial Library, and the Florida Strawberry Festival. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Barbara Bowden; sons Bud Bowden (Pam), and Charlie Bowden (Leecy); grandchildren Katie Corby (Alex), Chip Bowden (Nina), Chelsea Bowden, Bailey Bowden, and Lindsey Bowden; great-grandson Brent Corby; mother-in-law Ledgie H. Alley; and 2 nieces and 1 nephew. A special thanks to the Aqua Team of Life-Path Hospice for all of their compassionate help. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 19 at 3:00 P.M. at Plant City's First Baptist Church, 501 N. Palmer Street, Plant City 33563, where the family will received friends beginning at 2:00 P.M. Committal to follow at Oaklawn Cemetery, Plant City. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Plant City's First Baptist Church Building Fund, The Found-ation at South Florida Baptist Hospital, 301 N. BUSH, Joseph William, 78, of Tampa, passed away into the loving arms of Jesus on April 26, 2015. He is sur-vived by his wife of 40 years, Julia; 4 children, Daphne (Todd), Jason (Laura), Michael (Britini), Tanis (John); 7 grandchild-ren, Christopher, Daniel, Kara, Kaylynn, Leah, Jacob, Nicholas; many nieces and nephews; and his favorite dog "Bella". He was retired after 50 years of service to OLD97 Company.

Butler, Maria Lillian (Alma) - Tampa  
BUTLER, Maria Lillian (Alma), died on May 14, 2015 in Ft. Myers, FL a few months shy of her 100th birthday. Alma was the daughter of the late Oscar and Mamie Hoelzel. Alma was a devoted wife and mother. She was a beautician who worked at Maas Brothers Beauty Salon for over 30 years. Alma was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years - James John Butler. Alma is survived by three daughters: Maureen (Al) Bassett, Pat (Champ) Lockett, Karen (Billy) Parker and one son - James Butler, Jr; five grandchildren and six great grandchildren. The family wishes to thank the devoted staff at Shell Point - King's Crown Assisted Living (where Alma spent the last eight years) in Ft. Myers, FL for their loving care of our mother. The family also wishes to thank Hope Hospice for their support these last three years. The funeral will be held at Christ the King Catholic Church in Tampa on Tue, May 19, 2015, 10am. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to St. Columbkille Catholic Church Outreach Ministry - 12171 Iona Road, Ft. Myers, FL 33908.
