GAUGHAN, Arthur J., 90, of Sun City Center, FL, formerly of Carrick-on-Shannon, Ireland, born in 1924, died Wednesday, July 15, 2015. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary Gaughan. He is sur-vived by his family in Ire-land, Conor and Claire Whelan and their children, Alana and Ashling; Sine and Ed Dunne and their daugh-ter, Remi; Frank and Maureen Murray; Frank and Eileen Gaughan; Ronan and Kasia Gaughan; Aoife Gaughan; Patricia Lenehan and Stella Doyle; Brian and Lisa Whelan and their children, Ava and Henry; Joan Whelan; Maeve Whelan; Claire Whelan and Evin McMahon and their children, Dylan and John; his dear friends and neigh-bors, Margarita Suarez and Alfredo Cintron Adorno.

Geraw, Joseph - Plant City  
GERAW, Joseph, 71, of Plant City Florida passed away Monday, August 17th, 2015 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center. A native of St. Albans Vermont, he was the son of the late Bruce and Celia Martell Geraw. Survivors include his wife Patricia Peryea Geraw; Children: Peter, Joey and William Geraw, and Serena Domina. Siblings: Nancy Sprague, Elaine Dunham, Charlene Sordiff, Deborah Geraw, Shelia Bennett, Vanessa Morgan, Ethan, Ronnie, Timothy and Danny Geraw, 11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren, preceded in death by siblings: Patricia, Bruce, Larry James, Gerald and Todd Geraw. GERMANY, John - Tampa  
GERMANY, John F., age 92, of Tampa, Florida, died on August 26th, 2015. He grew up in Plant City, FL and after graduating from Plant City High School, attended the University of Florida, graduating with honors. John served during World War II as a combat Army tank commander in the European Theater, and following VE Day he was assigned to Japan. After completing his military service, he attended Harvard Law School and graduated in 1950. He re-turned to Tampa to prac-tice law. During the 1955 and 1957 sessions of the Florida Legislature, he served as the Chief Legal Advisor for legislative affairs to Gov. LeRoy Collins. In 1959, he was appointed Circuit Judge for the Thirteenth Judicial Circuit of Florida; he later served as Chief Judge. He resigned to become a partner in the law firm of Knight, Jones, Whitaker & Germany. In 1968, the firm merged and became Holland & Knight, where John was a co-founder and partner until his retirement at the age of 90. As Legal Advisor to Gov. Collins, John was instru-mental in the efforts to establish the University of South Florida. He was the second President of the Board of Trustees of the USF Foundation, and in 1966 was the recipient of the University's Medallion for Community Service. In 2012, he was awarded the President's Fellow Medallion as one of USF's "Founding Fathers." In addi-tion, he was a member of The University of Tampa's Board of Trustees, serving as Chairman from 1982 to 1984. He was also awarded an honorary Doctor of Juris-prudence by Stetson Univer-sity. In 1961, John was elected President of the Friends of the Library of Tampa-Hillsborough County and spearheaded the effort to build and fund a new down-town library, which opened in 1968. The library was dedicated as "The John F. Germany Library" in 1999 in recognition of his efforts. John was a member and Chairman of the Florida Board of Bar Examiners, and a member of the Board of Managers of the National Conference of Bar Examiners, serving as Chair-man from 1974 to 1976. During his tenure on the Board, he was instrumental in developing and imple-menting the Multistate Bar Examination. The Trial Lawyers Section of the Hills-borough County Bar Asso-ciation honored John with the 2001 Herbert G. Gold-burg Award, given to a trial lawyer who demonstrates excellence and integrity in civil trial advocacy. The Hillsborough County Bar Association awarded him the 2006 Outstanding Lawyer Award, given for mentorship of others in the practice of law and com-munity service. In 2012, he was inducted into the Plant City High School Hall of Fame. John was a President of the University Club and one of the Founders and Presi-dents of The Tampa Club. He was a member of Palma Ceia Golf & Country Club and of Ye Mystic Krewe of Gasparilla, serving as King Gasparilla LXXI. He was a trustee of historic Bok Tower Gardens and a de-voted member of St. John's Episcopal Church. Most importantly, John was one of "The Greatest Genera-tion" who served God and his country faithfully, loved his family and friends un-conditionally, mentored and encouraged countless individuals throughout his long and fulfilling life. John was predeceased by his beloved wife of 57 years, Mary Ellen, and is survived by his children: Sue Ellen Lucas and hus-band, Mike of Birmingham, Alabama; John Germany, Jr. and wife, Janet of Jackson-ville, Florida; Jan Gruetzmacher and hus-band, Mark; and Lindsey Robbins and husband, Jim, all of Tampa; eight grand-children: Michael Lucas and wife, Whitney; Julie Pierami and husband, Jason; Amy Gruetzmacher; Kate Davis and husband, Drew; Mark Gruetzmacher, Jr.; Jimmy, George and John Robbins; and one great-grandchild, Matthew Pierami. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2015 at 11:00 AM at St. John's Episcopal Church, 902 South Orleans Avenue, Tampa, followed by a recep-tion. Gough, DeAnne S. - Sebring  
GOUGH, DeAnne S., age 79, passed away on Monday, August 24, 2015 in Sebring, Florida. She was born on May 15, 1936 in Ringgold, GA to the late Horace Tipton and Melinda Mae (Canupp) Shultz. DeAnne moved to Sebring in 1964 from Hardee County, previously of Tennessee, and was a member of First Assembly of God Church. Survivors include her husband, C.B. "Dude" Gough, Jr.-Sebring, FL, daughters, Linda (Charles) Glandt-Lakeland, FL; Cindy Noel-Sebring, FL and Sara (Tommy) Turnbull-Sebring, FL, seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. The family will receive friends at 9:30am on Thursday, August 27, 2015, at Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home of Sebring, with a funeral service to follow at 10:00am with Reverend Wilmont McCrary officiating. A private family interment will take place at Lakeview Memorial Gardens, Avon Park, FL.
