MARTIN, Angel, Sr., 91, longtime resident of Tampa, died peacefully in his sleep on July 4, 2013, surrounded by his family. He is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Aurora; daughter Lourdes and her husband, LTC (Ret) William R. Kilbourn, of Tampa; son Angel Martin, Jr., of Spring Hill; granddaughter Desiree K. Trister, and her husband, Dr. Andrew Trister, of Seattle, WA; his nephew, Fermin Martin, and his wife Maggie, his great-nieces, Melissa Martin and Melanie Martin, all of Tampa; and his niece, Aleida Hernandez, of Miami. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fermin Martin, Sr. and Asuncion Martin, his brother, Fermin Martin, and his sister, Isabel Areta. Mr. Martin was a graduate of the University of Havana with a degree in Accounting and one year of Law School, and a graduate of the University of Tampa with a degree in Business. In Cuba, he was Chief Financial officer and CPA of one of the largest food brokerage firms in the country, exporting merchandise all over the world, primarily to Europe and Latin America. He was Manager of the University of Tampa Business Office in the 1960's and then joined GTE Data Services at its inception in Tampa in the Finance & Accounting Department, from which he retired. He was a loving father, grandfather, and uncle, and a great connoisseur of fine wine, food, and Spanish literature. He and his wife traveled throughout the world, including numerous times to Spain, where he enjoyed the Spanish culture, language, and people. He will be greatly missed by his entire family. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Tuesday, July 9, 2013, at Garden of Memories Mausoleum, 4207 E. Lake Avenue, Tampa, FL 33610.
