Bessie Brockway Vargas "Lita" BLAIN

BLAIN, Bessie Brockway Vargas "Lita," 99, of Tampa, passed into the Lord's hands on July 5, 2013. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Arturo Vargas and Armando Blain; her sisters, Patricia Paula Gonzalez and Mary Sanchez Padron. She is survived by her loving and dedicated son, Billy Vargas and daughter-in-law Arline; her beloved granddaughter, Stefanie Espinosa (Mario) and loving grandson, Kevin Vargas (Amanda); the joys of her life, great grandchildren Victoria and Miranda Espinosa, Adrianna and Olivia Vargas; sisters Jennie Canalejo and Manuela Di Rosa; nieces, nephews and many other family members and friends, who will dearly miss her. Bessie retired after 45 years as a "grand cigar hand roller" at Gradiaz-Annis/General Cigar Co., where her skills were showcased and lauded in numerous hand-rolling cigar demonstrations throughout the U.S. She was an accomplished seamstress & great cook, who loved family gatherings. Bessie was also a kind, generous and compassionate matriarch, who was first to help in times of need. Bessie spent her last four years residing in a caring, loving family environment at Bamboo Villas ALF and her family will be ever grateful to the entire staff. During the past several months she was also greatly aided by the Lifepath Hospice Teal Team. The family extends their appreciation for all of the services and compassionate care provided by Dr. Norman Castellano. The family will receive friends for Visitation Tuesday, July 9, 2013 between 6 and 8 PM at Boza & Roel Funeral Home, 4730 North Armenia Avenue, Tampa. Services will be on Wednesday, July 10th at 10 AM at the funeral home followed by Interment at Centro Espanol Memorial Park.
