Carolyn CASTAGNA

CASTAGNA, Carolyn, died peacefully on October 27, 2013 at her home in Belleair surrounded by her loving family. She was born on November 15, 1933 in Tampa, Florida. Carolyn attended school at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Plant High School, and the University of Florida. In 1954, she married William J. Castagna, Esq. and, together, they raised four children: Charles Castagna, Esq. (Karen), William D. Castagna, Lisa Griffith (Patrick), Catherine Abood (Robert, Esq.). She was a member of Peace Memorial Presbyterian Church, Casado, Carlouel, and served in the Clearwater Junior Service League and the Clearwater Symphony Guild. Carolyn was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend whose bright and uplifting spirit was a true inspiration to all who had the good fortune to know her. Beautiful, gracious and gentle, she created a warm and loving home for her family and friends. She was loved dearly by her 10 grandchildren: Alisa Collins (Nicholas), Annamarie, Charles Anthony and Mia Castagna; Gabrielle and Liam Castagna; Kyle and Kevin Griffith; and Delaney and Daniel Abood. Carolyn was predeceased by her parents, Judge and Mrs. I.C. Spoto, and her sister Norma Jean Alcalde. Survivors are her husband Judge William John Castagna, their children and spouses, her 10 grandchildren, her sister Josephine Brown (Carlton), and a very large and loving extended family. There will be a memorial service at 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 2nd at Peace Memorial Presbyterian Church in Clearwater. Following the service, there will be a reception at the church in Roebling Hall where the family will receive friends. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Peace Memorial Presbyterian Church, 110 South Ft. Harrison Ave., Clearwater, FL 33756.
