GOFORTH, Delbert J., Sr., 94 of Land O' Lakes, Florida passed away March 29, 2014. He was born in Kings Creek, Cherokee County, South Carolina and was a resident of Columbia, South Carolina for 55 years until 2007, when he moved to Land O' Lakes, Florida. Delbert retired as Chief Warrant Officer with the United States Army. He also retired from the Central Chevrolet Company. He was a member of the Bethel United Methodist Church in Columbia, South Carolina for 60 years. Delbert was a life-long member of Fort Jackson AFM, No. 374. He enjoyed playing bridge as a hobby. He is preceded in death by his parents, Willard Brown Goforth and Ila Jane Goforth Pitts; and his wife of 65 years, Marguerite W. Goforth. Delbert is survived by his son, Delbert J. Goforth, Jr. and wife, Stephanie of St. Petersburg, Florida; daughters, Rita Wilson and husband, Otis of Land O' Lakes, Florida and Karen Goforth of St. Petersburg, Florida; 4 grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren. A memorial service will take place at Connerton Court ALF, 21021 Betel Palm Lane, Land O' Lakes, FL 34638, date and time to follow.
