Harold Chester HURST

HURST, Harold Chester, 83 of Spring Hill, passed away peacefully on January 15, 2013 at home under the compas-sionate care of family and HPH Hospice. He was born in Lowell, Mass. to Hilda and Ellis Hurst and has been married to Irene (Hulslander) Hurst for 61 years. His passion of vehicles lead to a lifetime of work in mechanics as the founder of Harold's Auto Center for 60 years which began in Massachusetts and continues today in Spring Hill know as the "Big Dinosaur". He was an avid outdoorsman that enjoyed family, fishing, horses, traveling and woodworking. He laughed often, loved much, won the respect of many and the affection of family and friends. Harold is preceded in death by his son, Glenn; parents; brother, Edwin Hurst and sister, Mildred Robinson. Harold is survived by his wife, Irene; three children, Dana (Nancy) Hurst; Tammy (Gary) Fincher and Susan (Chuck) Stringer; nine grandchildren, Brenda (Tim) Huckaby, Donna (James) Garrett, Jeff (Jill) Hurst, Jamie Hurst (Mother Anita) (Travis Matney), Crystal (Ryan) McCazzio, Holly Fincher, Shawn Fincher, Brianna and Brandon Stringer, and eleven great-grandchildren, Megan and Grady Huckaby, Mikey Brown, Shaw and John Ray Garrett, Abigail and Bradley Hurst, Madisyn McCazzio, Marissa, Emma and Wyatt Fincher; sister, Phyllis Edgecomb and many nieces and nephews. Services will be held to celebrate his life at the Spring Hill United Church of Christ located at 4244 Mariner Blvd. in Spring Hill on Saturday, January 19 at 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children (www.shrinershospitalsforchildren.org) and HPH Hospice.
