KARRAN, Helen B., 92, of South Tampa, was born May 31, 1921, and went to her eternal home on March 29, 2014. She was born and raised in Jacksonville, FL, graduating from Robert E. Lee HS and Florida State College for Women (now FSU) in 1942. She was married for 70 years to George V. Karran, Jr., who passed away in 2013. Helen worked for Florida Shipbuilders in Jacksonville and the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation during WWII before becoming a full time wife and mother. She was a retired member of the Salty Sisters of the St. Pete Yacht Club, an accomplished bridge player, and a loyal sports fan. She loved her family and her neighbors, and was beloved by them. She is survived by her children: daughter, Kathryn Ludwig (George); son, Richard (Stephanie); 2 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; and her nephew, John Benton (MaryAnn). A celebration of her life will be held at 2 pm on April 10 at Horizon Bay, 800 W Azeele St, in Hyde Park.
