ANTHONY, Jacob, Jr. 87 of Zephyrhills, died on Thursday, Feb. 7, 2013. Mr. Anthony was born in Catasauqua, Pa. on Oct. 10, 1925 to Jacob A. Sr. and Margaret Anthony. He graduated from Whitehall High School in 1942. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Navy
and served honorably until 1946 rising to the rank of Radioman First Class. As a WWII
US Navy Veteran serving in the Pacific Theater, he received numerous citations. While in the Navy, he completed the Accounting cirricula at the Armed Forces Institute. Jacob married Bernice Roller on April 13, 1946. He was a member of the Porter Lodge #284 of Catasauqua, Pa. and Badger Lodge #325 of Stroudsburg Free and Accepted Masons since 1956. As an active, thirty-second degree Mason, he belonged to the Scottish Rite Lodge Consistory of Allentown, Pa. Jacob also was a member of the VFW
#2540 of E. Stroudsburg, Pa., and the American Legion of Zephyrhills, Fla. After his discharge from the Navy, he worked for the Fuller Company in Catasauqua, Pa. and Air Products in Allentown, Pa. until his retirement. He volunteered many hours helping seniors, and was an active member in the Lutheran Church serving on council and finance committees. Currently, he was a member of Atonement Lutheran Church of Wesley Chapel. Mr. Anthony is survived by his wife of 66 years Bernice of Zephyrhills, son Jacob Anthony, III (Betsy) of Aiken, SC, daughters Sharon Skvoretz of Columbia, SC, and Linda Talaber of Zephyrhills, Fla. Grandchildren; Eric, Edward, Anissa (Marco), Joanna (Dan), Erika , Jonathan (Misty), Christopher (Laura), and Matthew (Kristen). Great-grandchildren; Amanda, Braydon, AJ, Emily, Owen, Patrick, Quinlin, Hunter, Tyler, Liam, Craig, Megan, Nate, Sydney, and Asher. A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 2, 2013, at Atonement Lutheran Church 29617 SR 54 Wesley Chapel, FL. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Capital Fund at Atonement Lutheran Church, 29617 SR 54, Wesley Chapel, FL 33543.
