James D. "JD" HUGHES

HUGHES, James "JD" D, 90 of Lutz, passed away Friday, February 22, 2013. He was born in Ozark, Alabama, raised in the Methodist faith, and moved to Florida from Texas in 1941. He served in the Army Infantry during World War II, in the South Pacific. He retired from Industrial Supply, Tampa. JD enjoyed fishing and gardening. He coached a women's softball team that made it to the World Series in North Carolina. He is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Doris; son, Douglas Hughes of Lutz; daughter, Sandra D. Parr and her husband Leroy of Cullowhee, N.C.; four grandchildren, Danny Parr (Patty), Dillon and Jared Hughes, Jaime Jones (Durl); six great grandchildren, Hunter, Cody, Tyler, Marcie, Silas and Hudson. A memorial service will be held at Loyless Funeral Home, Friday, March 1, 2013, at 7:00 p.m. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
