NEWCOMER, Janice M., 87 of Tampa, passed away on April 19, 2013. Preceded in death by her husband Ray and daughter Marjorie. She is survived by her children John Newcomer (Pat) and Kathi Levitov (Justin), grandchildren Bill (Lisa) and John (Nikki) Penberthy, Marc and Jon (Lisa) Newcomer, Talya (Dave) Hillinger, Jana (Bret) Levitov and numerous great and great-great grandchildren. Jan grew up in the small town of Mt. Joy, PA. An early sense of adventure drew her and her sisters to visit New York City to enjoy the sights and sounds of the big city as well as Frank Sinatra. By 1946, she had married Ray Newcomer and moved to Florida. With her husband, who shared her love for adventure, they continued their travels. Later in life she celebrated Mardi Gras Day in New Orleans by riding on a float. She was a charter member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. A Life Master bridge player, Jan enjoyed duplicate bridge and the many friends the game brought into her life. An avid reader, she found comfort and companionship in her reading. She was a loving wife, devoted mother, caring grandmother, and good friend to all. A Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 27th at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.
