John D. Wells

WELLS, John D., CLU, 93, of Sebring, FL, died Thursday morning, April 3, 2014 at his residence. Born in Anoka, NE he had lived in Omaha for 30 years before moving to Indianapolis, IN then retired to this area in 1985. He was veteran of WWII serving in the Army Air Corps as a navigator. He was a managing editor in the publishing industry, having worked for Ruff Notes and R & R. He wrote the first training manual for Life Insurance & Brokerage. He was a 70 year member of Papillion Lodge No 39, A.F. & A.M., Papillion, Ne. He was also a member of Scottish Rite of Free Masonry, SJ, USA, Valley of Tampa, Orient of Tampa, Egypt Temple Shrine, Tampa, and Highlands Shrine Club. He was a member of the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels. He served as an Elder in Sebring Christian Church and active with his wife in the In Touch ministry in First Christian Church of Avon Park. He was preceded in death by his son, Randy Wells. He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Virginia; one son, John D. Wells, Jr., CA; three granddaughters, one grandson and one great granddaughter.
