Joseph A. AMON

AMON, Joseph A., 64, of Tampa, FL passed away Nov. 27, 2013. He is survived by his loving wife, Debby, daughter, Sarah, son-in-law, Joe, grand-children, Peyton and Alex, as well as brothers, Mark, Roger, Drew, Chris, and a sister, Regina. Joe was raised in Louisville, KY, a graduate of Bishop David H.S. and the Speed School of Engineering at the Univ. of Louisville. Joe was a USAF veteran and enjoyed a successful career as a Civil Engineer for 40 years, most recently as VP for Ardaman & Associates Inc. Joe was a passionate member of his community. He was past President of the Ybor City Chamber of Commerce, Charter Member and past President of the Rotary Club of New Tampa, Knight in the Krewe of Sant' Yago, past Member of the Hillsborough Co. Charter Review Board, previously appointed to the National Trust for Historic Preservation Commission by Sen. Tom Lee, a Fellow of the American Concrete Institute, as well as a Member of the Hillsborough Co. MPO, the Italian Club, SAME, FICE, FES, MOAA, and St. Catherine's Episcopal Church. Joe was energy personified and loved by his friends, co-workers, and family. The family wishes to thank the many friends who extended prayers and support during Joe's courageous battle with Parkinson's/MSA. He would want to be remembered for his engineering mind, love of history, enjoyment in mentorship and of people.
