Lenore H. McTague

MCTAGUE, Lenore H., 86, a resident of Tampa, Florida, died September 1, 2013. Lenore was born in Bethel, Conn. on November 4, 1926. Shortly thereafter her family moved to Mt. Kisko, NY. Until her late teens Lenore attended school in neighboring Chappaqua. In the mid 1940's she moved with her family to the Coral Gables-Miami area. Lenore had a long and active career in the real estate business in that area during the late 40's and until 1986 when she married Robert H. McTague, Coral Gables Realtor. Soon thereafter they moved to Tampa to be closer to Bob's children. After Bob's death in 2002 Lenore became active in the Tampa Woman's Club. She joined Palma Ceia United Methodist Church where she enjoyed the Book Club (she couldn't be without a book!), the Circle and Young at Heart group, of which she was Chairman for several years. Then there were the bridge games! ("those lovely bridge ladies" she always said) and she could frequently be seen doing water aerobics at Shapes. Lenore and Bob enjoyed many "adventures" sailing on their 35' sailboat, Nimbus III. They loved exploring the Bahamas, the Florida Keys and cruising the ICW, as well as the west coast of Florida. Racing was "fun but scary". Lenore is survived by her sister Emilie H. Wenner and brothers, Paul J. Hennings and Leroy Hennings, Jr., nieces include, Louise Schmitt, Debbie Bedell (Michael), Diane Collins and nephew Paul Hennings, Jr. (Connie). Also surviving Lenore are her stepchildren, Robert H. McTague, Jr. (Doris), Lucia M. McTague and Neil G. McTague (Patty). Lenore also leaves behind a grand niece, 5 grand nephews, 3 step grandchildren and 4 step great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Friday, September 6th at Palma Ceia United Methodist Church, 3723 Bay to Bay Blvd. The family will receive friends in the church parlor from 2:00-3:00 PM with services beginning in the Sanctuary at 3:00 PM. The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to Lenore's devoted caregiver, Arnell Battle.
