O'SULLIVAN, Maria T., age 82, passed away unex-pectedly on April 29, 2014. She was born in The Bronx, New York, a daughter of Ida Colonna. Maria was predeceased by her husband and the love-of-her-life partner of forty years, Brendan P. O'Sullivan and by her brother James Colonna of Mt. Vernon, NY. Maria received her nursing degree from Flower and Fifth Avenue Nursing School in NY. She worked at Montefiore Hospital in The Bronx before moving to Washington, D.C. with her husband for his work. Then Cody Fowler, former President of the ABA, offered Brendan a position at Fowler White in Tampa and off they went. Maria was active in the Tampa community for over fifty years. She was a longstanding parishioner of Christ the King. Her service included various groups within the parish as well as Christ the King School and especially the CKS Carnival. Additionally, she was an active supporter of the Academy of the Holy Names and Jesuit while her children were in high school. Maria was active in the Grey Gables Civic Club, Beach Park Home Owners Association, Neighborhood Watch, Brownies and Girl Scouts Leader, and was a founding member of the Tampa Home Owners AN Association of Neighborhoods. Maria was a cherished mother and grandmother who is survived by her children, Leslie O'Sullivan of Odessa, Laurie O'Sullivan Wren (Kevin) of Wilmington DE, and James O'Sullivan (Michelle) of Chicago IL, and loving grandchildren Emma, Brendan and Caroline Wren, Regan, Ryan, Riley and Rory O'Sullivan. She is survived by her sister, Sandra Blankenship of Manhasset, NY. Maria was a tireless supporter of her children and their activities and was always there for her family despite many serious illnesses. Her family marveled at her strength, grace and positive attitude. She loved to travel and was fortunate enough to see the world with Brendan; their travels taking them to all the continents save for Australia. She also enjoyed visiting and traveling with her children after Brendan passed. We would like to thank her caregiver Muriel Mitchell for her compassion and care and all of Maria's wonderful doctors and friends who helped her tremendously. She is loved and will be dearly missed by all. Friends are welcome to pay their respects on Sunday, May 4, 2014 from 3 until 6pm at the funeral home.
