Nissie I. "Dean" BOSSOM

BOSSOM , Nissie I "Dean", 88, entered into eternal rest on February 17, 2013. Born September 23, 1924 in Clarksville, Ark., she was the oldest of the eight children of James W. and Ora E. Upton. Growing up on a farm in a small town, she later became an Air Force wife when she married Jack P. Bossom I in 1943. Leaving home, she traveled to the east coast and Europe before settling in Tampa, Fla. After divorcing in 1958, Mom worked hard raising her three young children. Her longest places of employment were as a lunchroom lady at Manhattan Elementary School and as the deli manager at Winn Dixie from where she retired. In 2008, she moved to Wesley Chapel to live with her younger daughter and her husband. Mom was a devoted mother, grandmother and friend who always loved family gatherings and holidays. She was an avid crossword puzzle fan, reader and Scrabble player. She is survived by her daughter Patsy Peterman (Dorsey) of Odessa, Fla.; her daughter Linda Peterman (Jeff) of Wesley Chapel; her son Jack P. "Buzz" Bossom II of Tampa, Fl; her grandson Jeffrey L. Peterman II (Cindy); her grandson Billy Bossom (USN); her granddaughter Liz Bossom; her 4 sisters and 1 brother and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. A celebration of Dean's life will be held at 2:00 P.M. with visitation from 1:00 to 2:00 on March 2, 2013, at Brewer & Son Funeral Home located at 3328 S. Dale Mabry, Tampa, Fl 33611.
