Oscar F. CROSBY Jr.

CROSBY, Oscar F., Jr., 93, died April 16, while eagerly awaiting Christ's return. Born 2/24/20 in Hopewell, FL, he lived his entire life in Hills Co. Oscar was a WWII vet serving both the Marines and Army. He became an ordained Baptist minister at Buffalo Ave. Baptist Church in 1950 and went on to pastor several churches in Hills. and Sumter counties. He was a long time Sunday School teacher at FBCTT, and retired from the City of Tampa as Supervisor of police auto maint. He was a chaplain at Metropolitan Ministries for 15 yrs. He was a resident of John Knox Village for 7 yrs. and just recently moved to Jenny's Asst. Living in Tampa. He was predeceased in death by 9 brothers and sisters, his son Tom J. Crosby(2011), and his dearly beloved wife of 62 yrs. Christine F. Grimes Crosby(2000). He is survived by son James O., Becky Schrot(Richard):5 grandchildren, Jennifer(Var) Thelin, Jonathan (Carrie) Crosby, Andrew, Matthew(Yenaidy) and Emily Schrot. 4 great-grandchildren; Ivo and Vivi Thelin, Adam and Jake Schrot.Popa was a loving dedicated father who enjoyed reading his Bible and studying prophecy. A Celebration of his Life will be held on Sat. April 27, at 11am at the First Baptist Church of Temple Terrace, 10002 N. 56th St. Temple Terrace. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to Metropolitan Ministries.
