Richard RAYBUCK

RAYBUCK, Richard H., a cherished husband, father, grandpa and great grandpa, passed away on July 27, 2014, after 90 wonderful years. Born August 11, 1923, in Jefferson Co., PA., he was one of five sons born to Ms. Jessie Corbin Raybuck and John Raybuck. He married Ruth E. Clark on March 14, 1946. From 1943 to 1945 he proudly served in the US Army in the ETO with the 148th ECB in Normandy, N. France, Rhineland, Ardennes and Central Europe. His unit was awarded the Presidential Unit Citation. Upon returning home and marrying Ruth they started their family of two children, Richard and Constance. With their young family in tow, they uprooted and moved to Boynton Beach, Fl. in 1955. There he was actively involved with Little League, Boy Scouts, VFW and Free and Accepted Masons of Brookville, PA. Chapter. When he retired from 30 years of faithful employment with the US Postal Service, both he and Ruth spent most of their summers at their most beloved mountain home in Franklin, NC. They also enjoyed traveling the US and wintering at their home in Lake Placid, Fl. Richard is survived by his wife of 68 years, Ruth, brother Kenneth, two children, seven grandchildren and he was blessed with five great grandchildren. A private ceremony was held at the Sarasota National Cemetery. The family has asked that contributions be sent to Tidewell Hospice, 5955 Rand Blvd., Sarasota, Fl. 34238.
