Sabino Luis PLASENCIA

PLASENCIA, Sabino Luis, passed away on Monday, January 27, 2014 at the age of 93. He is survived by his devoted wife of 62 years, Oilda, his sons, Lou (Jennifer) Plasencia and Orlando (Lisa) Plasencia, and daughter Mary Ann Plasencia (Bruce Toppin). He is also survived by grandchildren Chris and Katie Plasencia, Nick and Emily Plasencia, John Plasencia, Jaclyn and Jack Rebel, Drew, Alex and Gabi Toppin, and many loving nephews and nieces. Sabino was born in Pinar del Rio, Cuba on July 11, 1920 to Sabino and Maria Dolores Plasencia. For nearly 50 years, he worked in the cigar industry in Cuba, Tampa and Honduras. He loved and shaped us with his simplicity and faith. He rarely met a stranger. His legacy will be one of loyalty, humility and living generously. The family is deeply grateful to Dr. Jose Cura and his staff, and for the kindness of staff members at St. Joseph's Hospital. On Thursday, January 30, 2014 Visitation will take place at 11am followed by a Mass of the Resurrection at 12 noon at St. Lawrence Catholic Church.
