Sylvia Delgado MILITELLO

MILITELLO, Sylvia Delgado, 79, of Tampa, passed away March 1, 2014 at home surr-ounded by her loving family. A native and lifelong resident of Tampa, Mrs. Militello started singing at the age of 3 with a passion for Mexican music. She was known as "La Mexicanita". She was a longtime cast member of the Spanish Little Theater, now known as the Spanish Lyric Theater. Mrs. Militello retired from the Hillsborough County School Board after more than twenty years of service. Preceded in death by her parents, Francisco and Amparo Delgado; and brothers, Armando and Frank Delgado; she is survived by her loving family, husband, Sam S. Militello; sons, Mitchell (Sandra) Ramos, Jr., and Sam S. (Melanie) Militello, Jr.; daughter, Patricia (Dennis) Bean; granddaughter, Alyssa Denae Militello; brother, Robert Delgado; sister, Marta Bulnes; and 12 loving nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday evening, March 6, at 7:30 PM from the chapel of JGR Funeral Home, 6718 N. Armenia Ave., with Rev. Christian Kelly Knouse, officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday evening, March 6, from 6:00 PM until time of service at the funeral home.
