Thelma Lois McClelland HUNTER

HUNTER, Thelma Lois McClelland, 91 of Lake Placid, Florida, was risen to her Lord early Friday morning May 17, 2013. A pioneer lifelong resident of Highlands County, Lois was born in Avon Park, November 11, 1921, and was the daughter of Ms. Ruby and Naan McClelland. Lois was a member of the Memorial United Methodist Church in Lake Placid and the Sunday School class. Her and late husband Aubry owned and operated Hunter's Red & White Grocery Store in Lake Placid for over 20 years. Lois is survived by her children, Joann Maddox Garner (Rusty), Shirley Spaulding, and Glen (Rachel); sister, Betty Anthony (Carl); 9 grandchildren and she was blessed with 11 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Aubry; siblings, Eloise Reynolds, Alice Robbins Foxworth, Wayne McClleland, Robert McClleland and two baby boys McClelland. Family will receive friends for a viewing from 4:00 p.m through 6:00 p.m., with funeral services beginning at 6:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 22, 2013, at Memorial United Methodist Church. Burial will be at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Lake Placid the following morning at 9 a.m. Funeral arrangements are under the loving devotion of Michael A.
