DYK, Waldemar Kazimierz, age 59, passed away on March 31, 2014. He was born January 5, 1955 in Gdynia, Poland, to Zbyszek and Aleksandra (Berger) Dyk and with his sister Jasia in 1961 they immigrated to the United States. In 1972 at the age of 17, he joined the U.S Marine Corp, 2nd Battalion, 4th Marines and served until 1978. In 1977 he met Nancy (Alcorn) at College and later that year they were married, a marriage that has lasted over 36 years. Walter attended Polk Community College, USF, and worked for several companies over the years, the last being for Engineered Control Systems as a Territory Manager. He valued hard work, discipline, and could teach himself anything he wanted to know. Walter became a US citizen in 1981 and always felt that this was the greatest country in the world. The pride of his life was his two children, Lyndsey (22) and Christopher (19), both currently attending SEU in Lakeland. Walter will be remembered for his work ethic, breadth of knowledge, fighting spirit, and impartible humor. He is survived by his wife, Nancy Dyk; two children, Lyndsey and Christopher; mother, Aleksandra Fidera; sister, Jasia Dyk; mother-in- law, Phyllis Alcorn, and his two faithful dogs.
