Walter Ethridge JACKSON

JACKSON, Walter Ethridge, age 80, passed away Saturday, January 19, 2013 in Avon Park, Florida. He was born in Naylor, Georgia on February 2, 1932 to Walter James and Cecil (Browning) Jackson. Mr. Jackson was an Industrial Mechanic in Agriculture, he was of the Christian faith; he served in the United States Army during the Korean War; he was an avid bowler, and he enjoyed fishing, watching professional golf, and spending time with his family and friends. Mr. Jackson is survived by his wife of 60 years, Margaret Jackson of Avon Park, Florida; sons, Roy Jackson (Amy) of Ft. Myers, Florida and Larry Jackson (Jaclyn) of Chesterfield, Virginia; brother, Ed Jackson (Betty) of Avon Park, Florida and 4 half-brothers; 15 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Jackson was preceded in death by his son, Walter Jackson, Jr. Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 23, 2013 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home in Avon Park. Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 24, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home with Pastor Bobby Sizemore officiating. Immediately following service a pot luck reception will be held at the Pentecostal Holiness Church, 312 Avon Estates Boulevard, Avon Park, Florida 33825.
