William J. "Bill" RIDDLE Jr.

RIDDLE, William J. Jr. "Bill," 80, passed away peacefully in his Florida home on November 8, 2012. Bill was born on September 17, 1932, in Chicago, Illinois, to William and Edith Riddle. He leaves behind his wife, Gail O'Brien Riddle of Plant City, FL; and children, William "John" Riddle (Katie) of Orlando, FL, Lori Riddle Guccione (Bill Gieseking) of Indian Rocks Beach, FL, Angela Riddle Ward (Jim) of Wilmette, IL. He also leaves six grandchildren, William "Will", Taylor and Lindsey Riddle, Jack and Rachel Ward, and Colby Conner; siblings, June Riddle Griggs (Harold) of Merrillville and Terry Riddle of Hobart; and sister-in-law, Barbara O'Brien Coffman of Grass Valley, CA. Mourning his passing along with nieces, nephews, are a multitude of extended family and friends from Northwest IN and Central FL. Bill graduated from Merrillville High School in 1950 and served in the U. S. Army based in Germany. After serving his country, Bill returned home to raise his family in Merrillville, working in the steel industry at US Steel in Gary, IN, and Pittsburgh Metals Purifying in Chicago, IL. Bill was a sports enthusiast who loved the White Sox and was a season ticket holder for the Blackhawks. He dedicated many years at the Merrillville Little League where he served on the Board of Directors. Family vacations with his children were a highlight as they were growing up, Disney World becoming a family favorite, leading ultimately to his retirement in the greater Central FL area. His grandchildren were his pride and joy; "Papa" was proud of his family and loved being part of his grandchildren's activities. In accordance with Bill's wishes, no formal memorial services will be held. Bill's family asks expressions of sympathy be extended to LifePath Hospice, 12973 N Telecom Parkway, Ste 100, Temple Terrace, FL 33637.
