BRANAS, William Robert Sr. "Bill", 87, of Dade City, Fla., passed away Thursday, October 11, 2012, in Zephyrhills. Bill was a lifelong resident of Dade City. He served as an Army
Staff Sergeant in WWII
. He was well known for his generosity and loving manner. He had a great gift for sharing his life experiences growing up in Dade City. He retired from CF Industries but most will remember Bill as the man standing next to Red Nolan at Nolan Drugs. He was preceded in death by his wife, Theresa DesRosier Branas. He is survived by his loving children, William R. Branas Jr. (Wendy) of Leesburg, Fla., Nancy Branas of Hudson, Fla, Mary Cay Sasser (Ray) of Lacoochee, Fla., and Patricia Branas of Tampa; five grandchildren, Chris Branas (Amie), Christina Branas Parrish (David), Jason Sasser (Charity), Charlie Branas, Tyler Branas; and one great-grandson, Trey Sasser; sister-in-law, Patty Batchelor; brother-in-laws, Kenneth DesRosier (Lorraine) of Bradenton, Fla., Roman DesRosier (Joesphine) of Dade City, Fla., Charles DesRosier (Linda) of Huntsville, Ala., and Bobby DesRosier (Frances) of Dade City; nieces, nephews, and many great friends. Funeral services will take place at 10am Tuesday, October 16, 2012 at the 5th Street Chapel of Hodges Family Funeral Home. The family will receive friends for viewing from 5-7pm Mon. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to HPH Hospice, Dade City.
