Evelyn M. Luckey HANCOCK

HANCOCK, Evelyn M. Luckey, 91 of Palm City, she died peacefully in her sleep and graduated to be with Our Lord. She was the youngest of her family and the last of her generation of a pioneer family of Florida. Many settling in North Florida, Orlando, Ft. Myers and LaBelle. Her grandfather built one of the first hotels in Orlando and helped build most of the bridges in Ft. Myers in the early days. She welded ships in WWII In Tampa during the 1950s, she owned Evie's Dry Goods Store and a country store in Citrus Park. She loved to read and learn and she moved to be with her daughters when she was 80. She was a member of the Baptist church and loved to read her Bible. She was predeceased by her parents, Samuel and Anna Christian Luckey; a son, Robert Ketring; an infant daughter, Donna G., Sharon Deanna; her brothers, Herbert, James, Sherman; her sisters, Alma, Clara, Louise. She is survived by her daughter, Donna Kerns DuBois (Raymond); grandsons, Glenn (Amy), Brent (Donna) DuBois of Palm City, Justin Lugar (Kelly) Garner, IA; granddaughters, Dawn Barber (Dennis), Fond-Du-Lac, WI, Catherine DuBois, Palm City, Denise Miller, Mason City, IA; great-grand children, Tyler (Jessica), Bria Miller, Hunter, Savanna, Brock, Braedon DuBois, Charlie, Thomas, Alana Barber, Carlie, Addison Lugar; great great- grandson, Adin Miller, along with many cherished nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Cerebral Palsy Foundation or the Early Steps Program of the . There will be a graveside service on Saturday, April 27, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. at the Woodlawn Cemetery, 3412 Ola Ave, Tampa, FL.
