Dale Hitt

HITT, Dale Provart, 93, of Sun City Center, Fla., born December 10, 1917, in DuQuion, Ill., went to be with the Lord May 23, 2011. He was predeceased by his parents, Claude and Bessie Pearl Hitt; his loving wife of 65 years, Helen Elizabeth (Rice) Hitt; and his youngest daughter, Nancy Slatinsky. He was the owner/operator of the Ben Franklin Variety Store in Christopher, Ill., from 1940 to 1986, when they moved to Bonita Springs, Fla., where they resided until 2004, when they moved to Sun City Center, Fla. Survivors include

his children, Sally (Ron) Becker of Plant City, Fla., Michael Hitt of Shelton, Wash., Melanie (Gary) Tomei of Freeburg, Ill., and Douglas (Kitty) Hitt of Hackett, Ark.; son-in-law, Robert Slatinsky of Palmetto, Fla.; grand-children, Gary Carruthers, Kellie Abbott, Drew Tomei, Cassandra McNulty, Amber Smith, Steven Tomei, Helen Rosebrugh, Andrea Williams, Zachary Hitt and Andrew Hitt; great-grand-children, Jessica Sandvig, Brittney Annis, Alexander Abbott, Alivia Abbott, Jordan Tomei, Alaina McNulty, Hannah McNulty, Tiara Smith, Darnell Smith, Selena Williams and Emma Williams; and great-great grandchild, Chloe Sandvig.
