MURPHEY, Benton Rogers, 75, entered eternal life on January 27, 2013 surroun- ded by his loving family. A native of Tampa born to the late Dr. David Rhodin Murphey, Jr. and Caroline Gaines Murphey. He is survived by his loving wife Linda; brother, David Rhodin Murphey, lll; children, Meg Murphey-McCain (Wayne), Rog Murphey, Michelle Rowe (Roy), Garett Jabaut (Kelly); grandchildren, Daltyn, Murphey, Jackson, Carter, Collin, Jack, Amelia; nieces and nephewm Bet Synder, Heddy Brown, and David Murphey, IV. Ben graduated from McCallie School, attended Vanderbilt University, Bridgewater, & University of Miami graduate school and served as a 1st Lieutenant in the National Guard. His love for real estate and development consumed the next 42 years and involved the building associations both locally and state. Whatever he engaged in - politics, building issues, flying, car racing, fishing, boating or golfing, he did it to the "nth degree" and will be most remembered for his intense love for his family, sense of humor, quick wit, tall-tales and fast com-backs.
