DUNLAP, Donald L. "Don", 74, loving father and devoted husband, passed away Thursday, August 16, 2012, surrounded by family. A resident of Zephyrhills since 1974, Don was always very active in the community. He was a member of the Moose and Elks Lodges and volunteered for many years in Zephyrhills Little League, the PTA and Band Boosters. Don retired from GTE after 29 years and he was a member of the Old Guard in the United States Army, where he proudly served detail on the Tomb of the Unknown Soldiers and provided security for the President of the United States and other dignitaries. Don was predeceased by Barbara, his wife of 32 years; his parents, Leon and Irene; brother, Kenneth; and sister, Wilma Brewster. He is survived by MaryAnn, his wife of 10 years; daughter, Tracy Gioannini of Royal Palm Beach (Bob, grandson, Tony); son, Brent of Zephyrhills (Sandra, granddaughter, Nicole, her fianc‚ Derek Kustes and great grandson Nolan); brother, James of Spring Hill; stepson, Scott Hinrichs of McHenry, IL (Mary, grandchildren, Brian Kaminski of Sun Prairie, WI (Kate, great grandchildren, Jerry and Abby); Jennifer Myers of Crystal Lake, IL (Andy, great granddaughter, Lilly); Daniel Hinrichs of McHenry, IL and David Hinrichs of Crystal Lake, IL (Lindsey). The family will receive friends from 10:00 - 11:30 am Monday, August 20 at Whitfield Funeral Home. Services will follow 11:30 am Monday at the funeral home. Interment will take place at 1:30 pm at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL with Military Honors provided by the Zephyrhills V.F.W. Post 8154. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to HPH Hospice Foundation, Donation Department, 12107 Majestic Blvd. Hudson, FL 34667-2455 in memory of Donald L. Dunlap.
