LYON, Eliot Bronson, 96, died peacefully in his sleep at home in Tampa, Florida. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Carolyn Root Lyon and daughter, Catherine Lyon Corbett. A World War II veteran, he was the recipient of the Bronze Star and served in the Pacific on the island of Tonga. Born in Guthrie, Oklahoma and, like another of that state's favorite sons, Will Rogers, it can be truthfully said of him: "He never met a man he didn't like." Surviving are his loving wife, Winifred C. Lyon and a host of children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will miss him deeply. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, April 24 at 1:00 p.m. at the Florida National Cemetery at Bushnell.
