FRANCE, F. Lane, M.D. of Tampa passed away on July 24, 2014, surrounded by his family and friends. Dr. France suffered with Parkin-son's disease for many years. Survived by his wife of 54 years, Darla, and his children, Debbie Smesko (John), Alison Batten (Donald), Kelly Ravo (Michael). Grandchildren include Jennifer, John, and Christie Smesko; Brooke and Brennan Batten and Griffin and Bella Ravo. Dr. France was born in Monongahela Pennsylvania, and attended Bucknell University and Temple University Medical School. He began Pediatric practice in Tampa In 1971 when he joined the Drs. Deen, Ferreri and Daily pediatrics. Later the practice expanded into what is now Pediatric Health Care Alliance. Dr. France was also involved with, and served as President of the Hillsborough County Pediatric Society and President of the Hillsborough Medical Society. He served on committees of the Florida Pediatric Society and the American Academy of Pediatrics. He served as President of Downtown Rotary Club and served on many committees devoted to the health care of children. A memorial service will be held at Forest Hills Presbyterian Church on Saturday, August 2, 2014 at 10:00a.m at 709 W.
