PRESTON, Frank B., 83, of Lake Placid, Fla., died at his home on Thursday, April 25, 2013. Frank was a native of Oklahoma. He was born October 4, 1929, the son of Ms.Mary and Roy Preston. After high school Frank was inducted into the US Marines Corps, and served during the Korean Conflict. When Frank was honorably discharged he settled in Kansas City and went to work for Bendix Corp. He moved to Wichita and went to work for an aviation company before moving to Boca Raton and working for a manufacturing company. After working for others, Frank decided to try his hand at self employment. He opened a clock repair shop and purchased property in Dandridge, TN., which he later cultivated into an apple orchard and named it Hill Top Orchards. When Frank retired he came to Lake Placid. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Lake Placid, Lake Placid Elks, and he enjoyed knife making. Frank is survived by his children, Sheryl (Ed), Samuel (Kwong); four grandchildren and he was blessed with 1 great grandchild. In celebration of his life and to honor his memory a memorial service will begin at 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 29, at the Michael A. Brochetti Funeral Home. Pastor Drew Severance will celebrate.
