AULT, James William "Jim", 86, of Tampa, passed away peacefully at home, August 5, 2012. He was born in Birmingham, Alabama. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy, serving in the Pacific theater during WWII. He attended and graduated University of Alabama and he then worked for Merrill Lynch in Birmingham. He then transferred to Merrill Lynch in New York, where he attended NYU, receiving his law degree and Masters in Taxation. He then was a partner at Donovan Leisure in New York. He came to Tampa as General Counsel for General Telephone. He then joined Carlton Fields. He was a member of both the New York Bar and Florida Bar. He was an active member of Palma Ceia Golf and Country Club. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, and his beloved wife, Lesley of 23 years. He is survived by his loving family; 1 sister, Nancy Ault; 3 daughters, Jennifer Fernandez (Mark), Merideth Taylor (Scott), Elizabeth Kieffer (Peter); 2 sons, Allen May, David May (Stephanie); and 8 grand-children. The family will receive friends from 6-8pm on Thursday, August 9, at Blount Curry MacDill Chapel, with funeral services on Friday, July 10, at 10:30 at St. Andrews Episcopal Church. Interment will follow at Myrtle Hill Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made in Jim's name to First Presbyterian Church of Tampa.
