Joy Lenora FORD

FORD, Joy Lenora (Hall), 65 of Valrico, Florida, passed away on Saturday, May 18, 2013 at her home. Born in Plant City, she was raised in Seffner, and has been a resident of Valrico for the last 22 years. She graduated from Turkey Creek High School in 1967, and worked for the Southland Corporation, 7-Eleven food stores, for over 20 years serving as an instructor and in management. She was initiated into Adah Chapter #85, O.E.S., Mt. Rainer, Maryland, and Past Matron of Plant City Chapter #81, O.E.S., having served as Grand Representative of Nevada in Florida and served on several District Committees. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, National Society United States Daughters of 1812, Colonial Dames, and a charter member of Augusta Jane Evans United Daughters of the Confederacy. She is survived by her husband of 30 years James W. Ford; children Michael Sayre of Seffner, Tracey Sayre-Williams (Bill) of Valrico, James Ford, Jr. (Michelle) of Severn, Maryland, and David Ford (Julie) of Tampa; and 7 grandchildren Joseph, Zackary, Ruby, Zachary, James III., Michael, and David. She was preceded in death by her parents Martine and Sarah Alice Hall; and brothers Larry M. Hall and William M. Hall. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 22 from 6 to 9:00 P.M. at Hopewell Funeral Home, 6005 CR 39 S, Plant City, and on Thursday, May 23 from 11:30 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. at First Assembly of God, 602 Charlie Griffin Rd, Plant City. A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, May 23 at 1:00 P.M. at First Assembly of God with the Reverand Daniel L. Braddock officiating. Interment to follow at Oaklawn Cemetery, Plant City.
