MAC EWAN, Mary Eleanor Alves, 95 of Seffner entered into rest Friday, October 25, 2013. Born in Braintree, Massachusetts she was the eldest of five children and the only daughter of John and Eleanor Alves. She attended Braintree High School and graduated from Lasell College with honors in Journalism and became an independent photo journalist, in 1942 she married Alexander Mac Ewan, during World War II the couple lived in California, Florida and Massachusetts and finally returned to Florida where she continued to pursue her craft and raise a family. She was preceded in death by her parents John and Eleanor Alves, of Snead Island and her husband Alexander Mac Ewan of Seffner. Survivors include her son, Robert Mac Ewan; Daughter, Mary Sharon Mac Ewan; six grandchildren and three great- grandchildren. She was a devoted wife, loving mother and had a life-long interest in photography, writing, travel, gardening, cooking and especially people and she also loved horseback riding. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
