VALERI, Richard A., 91, born October 28, 1921 in Sonnino, Italy. He immigrated to the United States in 1927 with his parents Ida and Vincent, and three sisters Antoinette, Mary, and Adeline. He died in peace May 9, 2013 surrounded by his wife Frances and three sons Rick, Bob, and Steve. Dick grew up in LaGrange, GA and attended Spring Hill College for two years, then transferred to his beloved University of Georgia where he graduated with a degree in Business. When WWII started he volunteered for the Navy. He served as a commander of a Naval Vessel, as a Lt. JG. After the war he returned to the University of Georgia where he graduated from law school. In 1948 he met the love of his life, Frances. They were married that year. This November would have been their 65th wedding anniversary. He worked most of his career as an attorney/partner for MacFarlane, Ferguson, Allison, and Kelly. He loved his work but not as much as his family, golf, fishing, and tennis. Dick was also a 60 year member of Christ the King Catholic Church where his children and grandchildren attended school. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Frances; sons Rick and his wife, Ann, Bob and his wife Jan, Steve and wife Michele; grandchildren Matthew, Lauren, Kate, Cecilia, and Logan.
