RADLEIN, Robert Maurice, 89, passed away April 8, 2014. He was born November 27, 1924 in Des Plaines, IL to Alexander and Brita (Eklund) Radlein. Robert was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, serving during WWII, the Korean Conflict, and the Vietnam War. He retired after 22 years of service. He was very proud to have served his country that he loved so much. After his retirement, Robert lived and worked in Tampa, FL, and would spend time during the summer months in Colorado. In 2004, he moved to Canon City, where he resided until his death. Robert was an avid coin, stamp, and sport card collector. He was a member of the Dutch Reform Church in Tampa, FL for 45 years. He regularly attended the First United Methodist Church in Canon City. He loved His Lord, and loved to sing the old hymns. Mr. Radlein is survived by his wife, Jean, whom he considered his soul mate; children, Robert M. Radlein of Tampa, FL, Robin Radlein of Anchorage, AK, and Raymond Radlen of Woodstock, GA; step children, Cindi Cardew of Greeley, CO and Vicki Smith of Canon City; step grandchildren, Amber Harmon, Adam Goodrich, Tammy Gillespie, and Eric Smith; step great grandchildren, Braden Gillespie, Rylee Gillespie, Logan Gillespie, Marshall Harmon, and Dawson Harmon. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ruth in 2011; and all of his eight siblings. At his request, no services will be held. Arrangements are under the care of Holt Family Funeral Home.
