ROBERTS, Wilbur Grant, age 85, passed away March 22, 2014 in Sarasota, Florida. Mr. Roberts was born in West Palm Beach, Florida on January 14, 1929 to Oscar Edwin and Lelia Mae (Royal) Roberts. He received a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture, majoring in Animal Husbandry from the University of Florida in 1954. He was a Dairy Specialist, member of the Avon Park Lakes Baptist Church, a resident of Bereah, Florida since 1962 coming from Brooksville, Florida; he served in the United States Army during the Korean War, and was a member of the American Legion and Disabled American Veterans. Mr. Roberts is survived by his wife of 63 years- Alene Roberts of Bereah, Florida; daughter-Frances Alene Todd (Jim) of Richmond, Kentucky; son-Edwin Guy Roberts (Gladys) of Lake Wales, Florida; 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son Staff Sergeant Wilbur Grant Roberts, Jr., his parents and 2 brothers and 2 sisters. Visitation will be held Saturday, March 29, 2014 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Avon Park Lakes Baptist Church with funeral service to begin at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. George Hall and Rev. Jim Todd and Rev. J.L. Howard officiating. Burial will follow in Corinth Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Avon Park Lakes Building Fund, 2600 North Highlands Boulevard, Avon Park, Florida 33825.
