Obituary

BURKE, SR., William L., 88, loving husband, father and grandfather, passed away Friday, September 20, 2013, at his home in St. Augustine. William (Bill) was born in Ohio and moved to Florida in 1956. In 1961, he settled in Valrico, Florida. While there, he opened Burke's Western Supply, a landmark known by many. Bill forged many friendships throughout the years and was an active member of the community, serving in various clubs and associations. He served as President of the Chamber of Commerce, was a member of the Rotary Club and Hillsborough County Jr. Agriculture Fair Association to name a few. Prior to moving to Florida, Bill served in the U.S. Army during WWII and was honorably discharged in 1948. After retiring, Bill and his wife, Vivian, enjoyed traveling in their motorhome around the United States, and also several different countries. He is survived by his beloved wife, Vivian; daughter, Vivian Richards; son, Mike (Stacy); granddaughters, Krista Wallace (Dustin) and Lindsay Burke; and great grandson, Liam Wallace.
