HERRERA, Angel F. "Gallego", 82, of Tampa, was born in Cuba on February 20, 1930. He would meet and marry the love of his life Maria Diaz in 1960. Together they headed to the United States striving for a better life for their first born, Angel Frank Herrera, in 1963. Finally setting their roots in Tampa, Fla., Angel and Meri would birth two more children, Maria Teresa and Marilyn. Angel started Angel's Ornamental in 1970 out of his backyard on West Lake Ave with his son, soon this little business would lead Angel to be the well known loved individual he is today. Angel was a member of Universal Lodge, No. 178, F & AM, the Scottish Rite, a Shriner, and an artistic welder, as much of his work is well known and will forever be displayed throughout Tampa. Angel will forever be missed by his children, Frankie Jr., married to Damarik Prado, Teri, married to Albert Leon, Marilyn, married to Steve Jones. He will also be missed by all his grandchildren: Frankie and wife, Vanessa their child/ great granddaughter Isabella Herrera, Christopher Herrera and girlfriend Kate Vasquez, Megan and Albert Leon, Francesca and Steven Jones. Abuelo you will be forever missed as the West Tampa icon you where and you will never be forgotten, Rest in Peace y vallas con Dios Te quiero! A Special thanks to the Critical Care Tower, 5th Floor Nurses for their love and special care. A Funeral Mass will be offered for the repose of his soul, Saturday morning, December 29, at 11 o'clock at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 3012 W. Cherry Street, with entombment to follow in Centro Espanol Memorial Park. Pallbearers include: Angel Frank Herrera, Jr., Albert Leon, Angel Frank Herrera, III, Christopher Herrera, Jose Prado, Steven Jones, and Steven Jones, Jr.. The family will receive friends, Saturday morning, December 29, from 10:00 AM until time of Mass at the church.
