Armando HERNANDEZ Obituary

is survived by his mother, Irma Millan Her-nandez; and his father, Armando Hernandez. He is also survived by his grandfather, Concepcion Millan; his aunts, Angie Millan and Nancy Millan; and cousin, Vinny Millan. Armando graduated from Blake High School's Performing Arts Program in 2008 and continued his theatrical career in performing throughout the bay area. He was the first recipient of the LULAC Award for the performing arts in 2008. He also received the Access Broadway Triple Threat Award in 2006, for his talent in singing, dancing and acting. Funeral services will take place at 10 a.m. Monday morning, July 18, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Downtown Tampa. A reception will follow after the service from 1-3 p.m. at Trinity School for Children, 2402 W. Osborne Ave., Tampa. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that all donations be sent to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation. AJ was such a blessing to whoever knew him, I had the great pleasure of becoming friends with him in my last semester in FLorida and when I say he brightened the room in every way I mean it. When I think of Armando, I smile. I can close my eyes and see him walking down the hallway toward my classroom with those brown flip flops on and a great big smile. I deeply express my condolences toward the loss of your son. Mandi and I were only in one musical theatre class during our senior year, but even in that one year, I learned that Mandi was a truly remarkable and talented young man. His smile and positive attitude were contagious; anyone who was around him couldn't help but smile and think positively, as well. He was always kind and tried his best to make sure that everyone felt welcomed in a conversation.
I always have and always will think of him whenever I hear Josh Groban's "Un Amore per Sempre" (not even Groban could hold a candle to Mandi's rendition) and Dracula the Musical. And I know that he will be watching over all of those who were close to his heart.
Rest in Peace, Mandi. You will be missed, but you'll always be loved.

I'm so glad that I had the pleasure of meeting AJ during Howl-o-Scream. It was so much fun working with him & getting the opportunity to continue growing our friendship even after Howl-o-Scream was over. Seeing him sing & perform was such wonderful sight & seeing the smile on his face showed that's what he loved to do. I had the pleasure of knowing Armando since he was a second grader, and just finished a show with him in May. What an amazing young man!! I never got tired of hearing his incredible voice - he was such a pro! I will always remember how happy he was and how everyone loved to be around him. I will cherish his memory and I feel so blessed to have had the chance to work with him one last time. As a mother of two boys myself I can not imagine your grief. But I feel certain that Armando would not want anyone to be sad for very long. He was an amazing, caring, talented, funny, and handsome young man.

I don't even know where to begin. I wish I had some thoughtful proverb or clever phrase that I knew would offer you the slightest bit of laughter or tiniest light out of this dark time. But honestly I don't know what I can say to make this any better for you. All I know that I can say is that I loved you son very deeply. He was a huge part of my life and who I became as a person and as a performer and I will always love and cherish him for that. I have so many fond memories of shows we did and from high school because of him. Ranging from Les Mis, Fame, and Ragtime to running for Homecoming court together our senior year. Your son touched so many people and inspired them in so many ways. He was a beautiful and much loved man and will be missed. I offer my condolences and my heart. Irma and Family - I am shocked and surprised at the passing of Armando. He was a wonderful performer and an amazing person. I am very sorry for your loss and wish you a very rapid healing process. Aj will be missed.

It is with complete sadness that we received the word of Armando's passing. We knew Armando as a neighbor, friend and classmate of our son Timo.
Timo remembers the fun carefree times that he shared with Armando at Trintiy School as well as the times they spent with Armando's grandfather.
He will be missed and remembered by us.

Words cannot express how sad we are at Armando's passing. Please know you are all in our thoughts and prayers at this sad time. Armando was a kind, caring, compassionate , hilariously funny young man. Thank you for sharing him with us. We all know how important his family was to him and how much you all love each other. We take for granted that tomorrow will always come. Clearly, it does not. To honor Armando's life we should love each other, forgive each other, be kind to each other and sing as often as we can. While the pain you feel at this time seems unbearable, just know you WILL all be together again.
