HARMAK, Barbara Smith, 81, of Dade City, Fla. passed away on January 4, 2013. She was born on April 9, 1931 in Somers, New York (Westchester County) to Clayton Charles 'Eben' Smith and Emma Paustian Smith. In 1940 her family moved to Rome, N.Y. where Barbara attended high school and then business school for typing. In 1951 she began working at Griffiss Air Force Base in Rome, N.Y. where she later retired in 1986 after 35 years. Barbara met her late husband, Victor, who was in the Air Force, while working at the base. They married on October 12, 1968, at the Free Methodist Church in Rome, N.Y. They first settled there in a trailer park until 1972, when they bought their in Rome, N.Y. They lived there for 21 years before moving to Ridge Manor, Fla. in 1993. They lived together until Victor's passing on September 27, 2011, just prior to their 43rd wedding anniversary. Barbara was predeceased by her husband, Victor, and sister, Betty Ann Carrico. She leaves behind her brother, Charles 'Bill' (Mae Marie) Smith, of Brooksville, Fla.; aunt, Florence Artis, of North Carolina; uncles, Burton Paustian, of New York and Walter (Lue) Paustian, of Hudson, N.Y.; sister-in-law, Lois Harmak, of Dade City, Fla.; nieces, Sharon (Valton) Beckham, of Beaumont, Texas, Alicia (Jay) Diedreck, of Spencerport, N.Y., Audrey (Lonnie Ray) Harley, of Pineland, Texas, Donna (Greg) Riski, of Odessa, Fla.; nephews, John (Mary) Smith, of Brooksville, Fla., Churck Smith, of Brooksville, Fla., Craig Harmak and family of St. Petersburg, Fla.; and many other nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Sunday, January 6, 2013 from 1-3 with a service to follow at Hodges Family Funeral Home, Hwy 301, Dade City, FL. In lieu of flowers, donations to HPH Hospice,
