Betty Denk Obituary

DENK, Betty Carver "Mama Denk," 80, went home to be with our Lord May 26, 2011, after a lengthy illness. She was sur-rounded by her loving family. Betty is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Ken Denk; two sons, Wayne (Jessie) Denk, Terry (Vicki) Denk; daughter, Robin (Jack) Denk Kehler; and three grandchildren, Heather (Matt) Denk Hiemenz, Jesse Kehler and Jacob Kehler. Betty was born April 12, 1931, in Louisville, Ky., the youngest of eight children born to Hardy and Eula Carver. She was a member of the First Assembly of God. She worked for both Tropical Bank and Barnett Bank and served as the secretary to the chairman of the board and president. She was also in real estate for many years. Betty will be forever remembered by those who loved her as "Mama Denk." She lived life to the fullest. Over the years, Betty loved to fish, bowl, play softball and spend time with her family and friends. She never met a stranger wherever she went. The Denk family wishes to express their deep gratitude to the caregivers of Hope Hospice for the love, care and respect shown throughout Betty's illness. A celebration of life will take place 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, May 31, 2011, at the Dowden Funeral Home Chapel, Sebring, Fla. In lieu of flowers, donations in Betty's memory may be made to Hope Hospice, 4840 Sun 'n Lake Blvd., Sebring, FL, 33872. Condolences may be expressed by visiting TBO.com.
