COMPTON, Charles Arnold, age 90 of Brooksville, passed away Sunday, January 20, 2013 at HPH Hospice Care Center. Born in Shelby-ville, Illinois, he came here 42 years ago from Oreana, Illinois. He was a building contractor, building numerous commercial and residential buildings and he enjoyed working with wood. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during WWII and was a member of the V.F.W. of Brooksville. Survivors include his wife: Clara "Eunice"; son and daughter-in-law, Stephen and Christy Compton of Brooksville; daughters, Carol Compton and Cheryl McCoy both of Spring Hill; brothers, Royce and Paul Compton, both of Shelbyville, Ill.; sister, Eula Shattuck of Cedar Springs, Mich.; grandchildren, Lauren Compton, Joshua Compton and Maria Eusebio and her husband Emilio; great granddaughter, Kelsey Branon. The family will receive friends 5:00 - 6:30 p.m., Monday, January 28, 2013 at the Merritt Funeral Home, Brooksville, where memorial services will begin at 6:30 p.m. with Dr. Greg Champagne of New Journey Church officiating. Military honors will be conducted at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to New Journey Church, P.O.
