Clyde W. FERGUSON

FERGUSON, Clyde W, 89 of Avon Park, Florida and previously Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, passed away Sunday, February 10, 2013. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Roberta; sister-in-law, Roxanne May (Phillip); nephews, Dr. Stephen D. May (Elizabeth) and Joseph W. May (Marsha); great-nephew, Stephen P. May (Amy); great niece, Sarah Yarbrough (Hunter); other family and many friends. Clyde wore many hats during his life. He worked on a railroad, followed by a stint in vaudeville as a stand-up comic, played his accordion in various bands and traveled the country with a theater group, then as a magician (The Fabulous Ferguson). During World War II he was a US soldier in Europe. Because he spoke fluent German he was sent beyond enemy lines to gather intelligence, etc. Upon his return to the U.S. he worked as a salesman, selling everything from ball point pens to exotic animals in several states. Later he opened up his photography studio in Pittsburgh, Pa. He was elected as President of the Professional Photographers Association of Pennsylvania, and the Triangle Photographers Association, where he and his wife were invited and traveled to many other professional photographers' conventions in Canada and the USA showing their unique abilities and talents. Instead of retiring, he chose to work for his good friend, George H. Swart, Veterinarian in Pennsylvania, as his Office Manager. In 2003, he and Roberta came to live in Avon Park so they could be closer to her family. We will be having a graveside service at Bougainvillea Cemetery on Friday, February 22, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. for family and friends.
