UPCAVAGE, Denise Marie Gray, After a courageous battle with cancer, Denise Marie Gray Upcavage fell asleep in death on February 22, 2013 with her husband by her side holding her hand. Denise graduated from King High School class of 1981, and went on to earn a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science from USF in 1985, and an MBA in 1990 also from USF, graduating with honors in all her degrees. Denise was a funny, smart, strong, loving, and loyal Mother, Wife, Daughter, Sister, Cousin, Niece, Aunt, and Friend. Denise loved to travel and traveled extensively throughout Europe with her best friend and husband of 22 years, Steve. She especially loved to travel to exotic warm beaches searching for her perfect "Corona" beach. She also loved fishing and boating with her husband and son Benjamin, who was the joy of her life! She had a true take-charge entrepreneurial spirit who excelled at everything she did, even opening a successful consignment shop for children called Reruns 4 Little Ones so that she could be with her son until he went to school. Denise is survived by her loving husband and best friend, Stephen Upcavage; her son, Benjamin Upcavage; her mother, Bette Gray; her father, Jerry Gray; her sister, Darlene Brockway, her sister, Dawn Melton (Eric); 7 nieces and nephews, numerous other relatives, her best friend Julie Woodall Wheeler, the affectionately called "Drunk Bast***s," and many other friends. We all love her greatly and will miss her terribly. Services will be held Sunday, February 24, 2013. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., followed by a short chapel service and a short graveside service at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Thonotosassa, Florida.
