ZACHARIAS, Edwin William, age 90, of Ashland, Ohio, formerly of Marion, Ohio, died Monday, November 26, 2012, in Brooks-ville, Florida at the home of his daughter, Constance. He was surrounded by his loving family. A lifelong farmer, he and his brother, Albert, farmed together for many years in Marion. He continued farming in Ashland, Ohio with his sons and son-in-law. He was truly grateful for the years of farming with his brother. They worked together alongside the next generation of Zacharias' along with his loving wife, Maxine, which were his proudest moments. He was a self-made man in spite of his unwillingness to describe himself in those terms. Even those that met him only briefly were influenced by him in a grand manner. He left behind a piece of himself, not in what he said, but in what he did. Edwin enjoyed his children and grandchildren with great enthusiasm. They will be forever be influenced by him and the way he chose to live his life. He was born December 23, 1921 in Marysville, Ohio to George and Elizabeth Daum Zacharias. He was predeceased by his wife, Maxine (Mann) Zacharias; a son, James A. Zacharias; a grandson, Evan Zacharias; and his brother and sister, Albert Zacharias and Erma -Eirich. He is survived by his children, Jerry Zacharias of London, Ohio, Terry (Alexis) Zacharias of London, Ohio, Phillip Zacharias of Brooksville, Fla., Dianne (Michael) Correa of Marion, Ohio, David Zacharias of Ashland, Ohio and Constance Zacharias of Brooksville, Fla.; 18 grandchildren, Elizabeth and Eric Zacharias, Dianne Montgomery, Edwin, James, Phillip, Kathrine, Sara and George Zacharias, Terra Dildine, Zacharias "Zach" Baker, Michael, Connor and Nicholas Correa, Ryan and Lacey Turner, Brittany Harvey and Timothy McMahon; and many beloved great-grandchildren. Calling hours will be 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Underwood Funeral Home, 703 East Fifth Street, Marysville, Ohio, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday. His brother-in-law, Pastor AC Mann and Pastor Paul Schultz will officiate and burial will be beside his wife, son and grandson at Mitchell Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at Christ Lutheran church in Brooksville, Florida, where he was a member. Date, time and details will be announced at a later date.
