Elizabeth Oriend Obituary



ORIEND, Elizabeth, 79, of Sebring, Fla., passed away Tuesday, May 17, 2011, at home. She was

born April 17, 1932, to Arthur F. and Vera (Wall) Murphy in Gilpin, Ky., and had been a resident of Sebring since 2000, coming from Pompano Beach, Fla. She was a homemaker and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force; member of The Women of the Moose and the Red Hat Society. She is survived by her daughter, Lydia (Stephen) Decker of Colorado Springs, Colo.; sons, Michael (Ann) Oriend of Lake Wales, Fla., and Louis (Donna) Bridgeman of El Cajon, Calif.; brothers, Arthur F. Murphy Jr. of Dunville, Ky., and Herschell Murphy of Liberty, Ky.; sisters, Joyce Underwood of Sebring, Fla., Paulette Lay of Dunville, Ky., Seleda George of Jamestown, Ky., and Rhonda McFarland of Campbellsville, Ky.; and seven grandchildren. The family will receive friends

4-6 p.m. Friday, May 20, 2011, at Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home, Sebring. Funeral services will take place at noon Saturday, May 21, 2011, at Stephenson-Nelson, with Pastor W. Mike Adams officiating. Entombment, with military honors, will follow at Lakeview Memorial Gardens, Avon Park. Memorial donations may be made in her memory to Good Shepherd Hospice, 1110 Hammock Road, Sebring, FL 33870. Arrangements were entrusted to Stephenson-Nelson
