FREEMAN, Frances Gilfillan, A memorial service will be held for Frances Gilfillan Freeman on Saturday, April 6, 2013, at 11 a.m. at St. Mary's Episcopal Church in Dade City. Following the service, the family will host a reception in her honor at Freeman Hall. Ms. Freeman passed away on December 22, 2012, at age 93, in the company of her family at Gulfside Regional Hospice Center in Zephyrhills. Born on September 16, 1919, in Birmingham, AL to John Moffat Gilfillan and Miriam Woltersdorf Gilfillan, she was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Arthur (Hank) Freeman; her son, Henry Clifford Freeman; and her brother, John M. Gilfillan. Surviving her are daughters, Frances Freeman Paden (William) and Jean Moffat Freeman (John Newlin); daughter-in-law, Lee Lindler Freeman; sister, Anne G. Davis; five grandchildren, Marc Hawes (Stacy), Henry Freeman, Patricia Freeman Cashin (Jason), Catherine Paden, and Will Paden; four great-grandchildren, Spencer Hawes, Trevor Hawes, Brock Cashin, and Kamdyn Cashin; and a loving extended family. The co-owner of Western Auto in Dade City, Frances G. Freeman founded the store with her husband in 1946. Later, she and her son expanded the business to include a service center and a second store in Zephyrhills. The owners received national recognition for their accomplishments in sales and service. Ms. Freeman was a member of St. Mary's Episcopal Church, where she sang in the choir, served on the vestry, and was the first woman to become Senior Warden. She devoted her leisure time to children and grandchildren, pets, books, gardens, and travel. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary's Episcopal Church, Gulfside Regional Hospice, or a .
