HUTSON, Gloria Jeanne Williams, 84, passed on to glory December 30, 2012. She had a winning smile and a welcoming heart that radiated her spiritual gift of hospitality. She found her greatest joy in giving herself to her family. She loved God, the people of God, and the Word of God. She served her Savior with a consistent attitude of sweet worship and self-sacrifice that will be greatly missed. She was born and raised in Alachua, Florida. She loved nature, riding horses, and music. She especially loved choral music and opera, and sang in choir for most of her life. She was also an avid tennis and bridge player. She graduated from Alachua High School and attended Florida State College for Women for two years, and transferred to the University of Florida, where she met Lucian Cary Hutson. They married in 1949 and raised five children. She was a tremendous blessing to the lives of her children and all 12 of her grandchildren, setting an example of Christian service with her open invitation. Nana's house was a wonderful second home to all where love and fun and great food was always at hand. She was preceded in death ten months earlier by her loving husband of 63 years. She is survived by five children, Emery Williams Hutson, Kathleen Hutson Smith (Jim), Anne Hutson Cunningham (Carlton), Stephen Cary Hutson (Katie), and Don Hutson (Kathy); grandchildren, Jessica Dees (David), William Hutson, Lucian Hutson Smith (Nichole), Jennifer Lane, Bonnie Appler (Drew), Alex Cunningham, Harry Hutson (Alexandra), James A. Smith, Maxwell Hutson, Stephen Hutson, Andrew Cunningham; and great-grandchildren, Bridgette Dees, Harrison Hutson, Madelyn Dees, Lucy Hutson and Caroline Appler.
